Not a class, but a chance to practice your skills. Bring your own material or purchase material available to work on your project. A lab monitor will be on hand for supervision and guidance, although these are not teaching workshops.
Bring your own steel OR we have steel for sale at the forge:
- 1/4″ square
- 3/8″ square and round
- 1/2″ square and round
- sucker rod (higher carbon steel) sold in 7″ sections
Students must wear fire-safe clothing (cotton, wool, or leather; no synthetics), closed-toe shoes (no synthetic uppers), and should dress for an open classroom. Long pants and short sleeves recommended. Bring a jacket in case the night gets cold

Leif Bennett |
Leif Bennett has been blacksmithing and metalworking since 1993. He has taken a wide variety of blacksmithing courses and has been teaching blacksmithing for more than a decade at Adam’s Forge in Los Angeles. He has a B.S. in applied physics from the California Institute of Technology and currently holds Level 1 and Instructor certificates issued by the California Blacksmith Association. |
