Supporting Students’ Basic Needs in Times of Crisis

The Cuesta Assistance for Student Emergencies (CASE) Fund offers temporary financial assistance to students facing immediate, essential expenses due to an emergency or unexpected situation.

We continue to see a steady rise in the number of students experiencing urgent financial need. Supporting the CASE Fund is critical to ensuring students are not forced to stop out of college because of circumstances beyond their control. By donating, you help ensure all students—regardless of financial barriers—can stay focused on reaching their educational and career goals.

Woman with daughter

A student parent finding stability

A student returning to college while parenting as a single mother turned to the Cuesta College Financial Aid Office when her car broke down and she had no one else to turn to. Without transportation, she was at risk of stopping out of school. An emergency grant from the CASE Fund enabled her to stay enrolled, continue pursuing her education, and work toward a more secure future for herself and her family.

Community support creating long-term impact

In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the Cuesta College Foundation hosted an event that raised over $109,000 to establish an endowment for the CASE Fund. This vital resource provides emergency grants to students facing unforeseen financial challenges that might otherwise lead them to stop out of college.

Your support of the CASE Fund—whether through endowment contributions or immediate-use gifts—makes a lasting difference in the lives of Cuesta College students.
