Mailroom

General Mailing Requirements

Bundle letters (four or more) with rubber bands facing the same direction (we have extras if you need them).
If you would like us to seal the envelopes, please keep the flaps up.
Very thick envelopes (with flaps that will not easily close) must be pre-sealed.
Keep foreign mail (which needs to be metered) separate from domestic mail.
Separate inter-campus envelopes, stamped envelopes, and postage-paid envelopes from all mail to be metered.
List your department (not your name) on all envelopes that need to be metered.
All bi-fold and tri-fold letters must be folded so that the document does not extend beyond the envelope's back flap fold and must be stapled in the right hand side corner.

Mailing Times and Office Hours
We accept outgoing mail until 2:30 p.m. Mail is taken to the Post Office in time for all materials to be posted by 5:00 p.m. North County Campus mail may be dropped off at the
Administration Building, room 8002A.

Bulk Mail Procedures

If you have at least 200 outgoing letters, it is possible that they may be processed as a bulk mailing. The Bulk Mail Procedure applies to ALL bulk mailings.
The Mailroom needs at least one week to process most bulk mailings (Tuesday through Friday). Bulk mailings are prepared on a first come, first serve basis.
It is imperative that the Mailroom be advised of all bulk mailings sent to off-campus mail centers. Please contact the Mailroom at 546-3992.

The mailroom provides in-town (San Luis Obispo) pick up and delivery service (Tuesday through Friday) with at least a 24-hour notice. E-mail request to messngr@cuesta.edu. Please include the following information so your request can be processed in a timely manner.

Requisitioner's name
Department (room #)
Date service is required (24 hour notice requested, please!)
Description of item to be picked up or delivered
Destination and contact person

NOTE: Due to heavy mail loads, messenger service cannot be guaranteed on Mondays.
